Adopt Net-Zero by Dr Beatrix Schlarb-Ridley FRSB, Director of Innovation and Impact and Chair of the Net Zero Carbon Strategy Group, BAS
“Never have our actions counted as much as today. We are witnessing devastating levels of environmental change, unprecedented in thousands of years – manmade climate change is threatening our civilisation, and most of all the lives and livelihoods of those who are least responsible. We have a precious, narrow window of opportunity to stop emitting greenhouse gases, reverse destructive trends and avoid irreversible tipping points. Providing the infrastructure for the move to renewably-powered electric vehicles is an important component of decarbonising transport, and events such as the EV Charging Infrastructure Focus and Ambassador Days provide platforms for responsible leaders to share and gain insight, which can then be converted into transformative strategy and action.
This is our time to rise to rise and shine – unprecedented challenge requires unprecedented action from government, industry and all levels of society. We cannot afford to hide behind what others should be doing – it is our responsibility to do all within our power to bring about the required change, and with utmost urgency. I invite corporate C-suite management to engage with events such as the EV Charging Infrastructure Ambassador Day, and to show true leadership in bringing about decarbonisation for our organisations and our wider spheres of influence.”
